Beth M. Hautala
Hello, I'm Beth. And I like making photographs. Seeing deepens my affection for life and gives me meaning. I am a fine art photographer exploring the American experience of race, class, and identity. Specifically, relations to self, each other, and what it means to be human?
I love reading literature, poetry, short stories and listening to music. Sometimes I have a propensity for writing bad poetry and sharing those poems.
Currently, exploring and documenting Milwaukee's three redlined residential racial zip codes.
I retired from the US Army in 2014. Then June 2016 began my studies at Rocky Mountain School of Photography, Missoula, Mt. and completed their five-month career intensive training program.
